Penny? What are you doing?
My daughter knows this phrase well. She pretends not to hear me, or maybe she isn't pretending. It could be that she just really has no interest in listening to me. She loves to open up any and every drawer, cupboard, or gate she can get her developing little digits around. It's only a matter of time, before she realizes she has an opposable thumb. She seeks out danger and faces it head on, with no evident sense of fear. My nerves are shot most of the time, a result of my ever present paranoia that she will fall and break her neck on something.
Penny is 21 months old now.She often partakes in activities that I do not understand. Yesterday, she emptied out the entire fridge, and lined everything up on the counter. Once she got the all the condiments, fruit, milk and cheese out of the way, she climbed right in the fridge and just lay there on the cold surface. Why?
It is amazing how much has changed in the last 6 months from when I originally started this post. Penny has a great vocabulary. She is learning new words every day. Today she couldn't stop saying "Avocado"
She has been on numerous camping trips, and is heading to her 2nd music festival this August. She still does all those crazy things I mentioned before, plus a little bit more.
Still not potty trained, but we are working on it.
